Mountlake Terrace hosting 3rd of July family celebration, fireworks

Mountlake Terrace will host its annual 3rd of July family celebration on July 3 at Ballinger Park, starting at 6 p. m. The event will feature pie-eating contests, field games, a DJ, and various food trucks. A professional fireworks display over Lake Ballinger is planned for approximately 10 p. m.

, as personal fireworks remain illegal in the city. City officials have closed the boat launch and waterfront areas, with the spectator viewing area located on the hillside south of the Mickey Corso Community Clubhouse. Portable restrooms will be available on site, as park restrooms will be closed. Strong attendance is anticipated, so attendees should prepare for potential weather changes and bring seating such as chairs or blankets. Limited onsite parking is available for guests with disabilities, while alternative parking options include the Mountlake Terrace Transit Center and paid parking at the Nile Shrine.

Community Transit Route 130 provides bus access directly across from Ballinger Park, facilitating public transport to the event.
