Edmonds Offers Business Support Grants

Edmonds, WALocal News

The Edmonds City Council has initiated a Business Support Grant program to aid local small businesses affected by the COVID-19 crisis. This program is part of the broader Edmonds Rescue Plan Fund, which received around $11. 9 million from the American Rescue Plan Act. Out of this allocation, $625,000 is designated for Small Business Grants, allowing qualifying businesses to receive up to $10,000 each. To qualify, businesses must have between zero and 30 employees and demonstrate a revenue loss of at least 50% compared to 2019.

The program is particularly focused on supporting minority-owned businesses, women, veterans, and creative-sector enterprises that may have been overlooked in prior financial assistance efforts. Applications must be submitted by 5:00 PM on September 13, 2021, with outreach conducted in five different languages to ensure inclusivity. Economic Development and Community Services Director Patrick Doherty emphasized the city's commitment to helping those who have been severely impacted. For further inquiries, business owners can reach out to Doherty directly via email or phone.
