Community Invited Workshop about Edmonds Hwy 99

Edmonds, WALocal News

The City of Edmonds is inviting community members to participate in an online workshop on November 17, 2021, focused on the design of new gateway signs along Highway 99. This event is part of the ongoing Hwy 99 Revitalization and Gateway project, which is currently in the conceptual design phase. During the first workshop, held on August 4, 2021, residents shared their thoughts on initial design concepts. Based on this feedback, several design options will be presented at the upcoming workshop. Community input will be further solicited through an online survey, which will be available after the meeting until November 31, 2021.

The survey aims to gauge preferences among the proposed designs, enabling the design team to move forward with the most favored options. In addition to new signage, the project will enhance safety by converting existing lanes and adding landscaped medians. Construction is anticipated to begin in late 2022, marking a significant step in improving the Highway 99 corridor.
