When temperatures drop, heres where can you go to keep warm in South County
The South County Cold Weather Shelter at Maple Park Lutheran Church in Lynnwood prepares for winter, opening when temperatures drop to 34 degrees or below. Daily intake occurs from 7-10 p. m. , with extended hours on Wednesdays from 9-11 p. m.
Shuttle services from key locations, such as Lynnwood City Hall and Value Village, will transport guests to the shelter. Community-based organizations manage these shelters to provide essential warmth and safety. Free transportation to the shelters is offered by Community Transit and Everett Transit. In addition to overnight shelters, daytime warming centers are available, including two in Edmonds and two in Mountlake Terrace. The warming centers operate during regular hours and aim to assist those in need throughout the day.
This initiative highlights the community's efforts to support vulnerable populations during the harsh winter months.
