Four current, former Edmonds employees request 750K each in damages after break room post

Edmonds, WALocal News

Four employees from the City of Edmonds filed claims for $750,000 each after their sensitive work injury information was publicly posted. The documents were displayed in the Edmonds Police break room, Parks Department, and City Hall from February 4 to February 12, 2024, violating privacy expectations. Claimants include retired officers Don Kinney and Jason Shier, current officer Stacie Trykar, and former employee David Williams. The information posted included names, job titles, injuries, and hours missed, fulfilling OSHA requirements for workplace safety disclosures. City officials have refrained from commenting on the claims, citing legal protocols.

The claims remain unpaid, and the matter will be handled by the city attorney. Attorney Joey Reibel represents the claimants, who have not publicly commented on the situation. Local implications may involve future adjustments in how the City handles employee injury reporting and privacy.
