Edmonds Petanque Club donates 10,500 to Edmonds Food Bank
The Edmonds Petanque Club donated $10,500 to the Edmonds Food Bank during its annual tournament, contributing to a total of $100,123 raised since 2011. Tracey Peterson, the community program manager, highlighted that the food bank now serves 1,200 households weekly, reflecting a growing need for assistance in the area. As funding sources have become increasingly uncertain, Peterson stressed the importance of community support for the food bank's mission. The tournament has not only raised funds but also fostered community engagement around food insecurity issues. The food bank aims to provide nutritionally dense foods, including fresh produce and dairy, to households struggling with food access.
This year's donation serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by local families. The Edmonds Petanque Food Bank Tournament has become a crucial event for supporting these efforts. To donate or learn more, visit www. edmondsfoodbank. org.
