Mountlake Terrace High School celebrates return of 30th Jazz Symposium Oct. 25

Mountlake Terrace High School will host the 30th Jazz Symposium on October 25, featuring 17 jazz bands from local middle and high schools. Running from 8 a. m. to 5 p. m.

, the event will include a noon concert by the Seattle Hard Bop Collective, directed by Jory Tindall. Master classes led by jazz educators Chris Bruya and Marina Christopher will further enhance the educational experience for attendees. The symposium emphasizes collaboration and growth among musicians in a supportive environment. Participating schools include Edmonds-Woodway High School, Lynnwood High School, and Shorewood High School, showcasing a wide array of talent. This free event will also offer concessions and information from local music services like Seattle JazzED and Kennelly Keys.

The Jazz Symposium has a longstanding tradition of promoting jazz education in the region. Its return after a five-year hiatus marks a significant moment for the local music community.
