Federal workers impacted by the government shutdown can join a free virtual webinar on Oct. 23 from 1 to 2:30 p. m. The session will guide participants through unemployment benefits, health care options, and career development resources. Additionally, attendees will receive job search assistance and training information.

Hosted by the Washington Employment Security Department and Pacific Mountain Workforce Development, this event aims to support those affected by the shutdown. The webinar is part of the state’s Rapid Response initiative, which addresses large layoffs and workforce reductions. Various local agencies, including WorkSource and Washington Healthplanfinder, will participate in providing resources. Such collaborative efforts aim to ease the burden on workers facing potential job loss. Registration for the webinar is available on Zoom.
