Edmonds Police Department promotes three to leadership roles

Edmonds, WALocal News

The Edmonds Police Department promoted three employees to leadership roles on October 1, 2025, enhancing its patrol squads. Sgt. Josh Hwang, a former U. S. Marine, has served as a K-9 handler and was awarded Officer of the Year in 2020.

Cpl. Sierra Jensen, hired in 2016, has extensive experience as a traffic officer and drug recognition expert, and she received the Officer of the Year award in 2018. Cpl. Lou Daniels, who joined the department in 2018, is a certified instructor in control tactics and a hostage negotiator with North Sound Metro SWAT. These promotions reflect the department's investment in professional development and leadership growth.

Hwang's military background and Jensen's traffic enforcement expertise will contribute significantly to their new roles. Daniels' training experience will further bolster the department's operational readiness. This strategic move aims to strengthen community policing efforts in Edmonds.
