Greg Jantz Founder of A Place for Hope, he lived every day to the fullest
Gregory Jantz, the founder of A Place of Hope, died unexpectedly on July 4, 2025, at the age of 65. His innovative whole-person care approach in mental health counseling helped thousands across the globe. Born on July 13, 1959, in Boise, Idaho, he moved to Kansas as a child before returning to Boise to complete his education. Jantz earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology before marrying LaFon in 1983. He established The Center for Counseling and Health Resources, now known as A Place of Hope, to fill gaps in traditional mental health care.
Known for his optimism, he often shared his faith and favorite scripture, Jeremiah 29:11, emphasizing hope for the future. Jantz enjoyed outdoor adventures with family, including hiking and skiing. He leaves behind a loving family, including his wife, sons, and sister, and his legacy continues to inspire many.
