A free Pickleball Celebration honoring Mike Meeks will occur on July 13 from 11 a. m. to 4 p. m. at Harbor Square Athletic Club in Edmonds.

Meeks, a longtime resident and community leader, passed away unexpectedly on October 17, 2024. He was an avid pickleball player who contributed significantly to the local sports community. The event will feature matches on eight outdoor courts, providing an opportunity for both seasoned players and newcomers to engage in the sport. In addition to pickleball, attendees can enjoy food and drinks, fostering a festive atmosphere. Community members are encouraged to RSVP at the Harbor Square front desk to help organizers prepare for the turnout.

This celebration not only honors Meeks but also aims to strengthen community bonds through sport. Local pickleball enthusiasts are expected to turn out in large numbers, reflecting Meeks' impact on the community.
