Colorado’s largest LGBTQ organization has a new CEO

Denver, COLocal News

Kim Salvaggio assumed the role of CEO at The Center on Colfax, Colorado's largest LGBTQ community center, on May 20, 2025, following Rex Fuller's departure in January. With a background in media and nonprofit leadership, Salvaggio previously served as the Chief DEI Officer at Rocky Mountain Public Media. She highlighted her commitment to empowering the LGBTQ community, particularly trans youth, in her statement about the new role. Her appointment occurs amid warnings from advocacy groups about potential rights rollbacks under a second Trump administration, which has already cut significant funding for LGBTQ health research. The Center aims to maintain its support for LGBTQ individuals during these challenging times, especially as corporate sponsors reduce their backing for Pride events.

Salvaggio's leadership is seen as crucial for navigating these difficulties and continuing the center's legacy of advocacy and support.
