Denver Parks and Rec trapped Park Hill Dave, the outlaw dog it wants to employ

Denver, COLocal News

Denver Animal Control captured Park Hill Dave, a German Shepherd-like dog, after he evaded capture for weeks at the Park Hill Golf Course. City workers set a humane trap with treats, and after several attempts, Dave entered the trap and was caught. Denver Parks and Recreation director Jolon Clark confirmed the capture and stated that the dog would be taken to the Denver Animal Shelter to check for a microchip and contact any potential owners. If no owners come forward within five days, the city plans to explore options for Dave, including finding him a role in a park. The capture comes as the city plans to transform the former golf course into Denver's fourth-largest park, with community input sessions scheduled to gather ideas for its future.

The area is known for its diverse wildlife, including other animals like foxes and hawks, which adds to the community's interest in the park's development.
