Expanded Waste Collection Services

Denver, COLocal News

Denver’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure will implement changes to solid waste collection schedules beginning January 2025. The new schedule includes weekly trash and compost collection, bi-weekly recycling, and seasonal programs like Leafdrop and Holiday Treecycle. These adjustments aim to streamline services, improve customer satisfaction, and align service demand with available resources. Residents can download the Denver Trash and Recycling App to access their updated schedules. Furthermore, starting January 6, 2025, Cart Maintenance requests will be addressed from Tuesday to Friday, requiring residents to place their carts at the curb for 24 hours post-collection.

The initiative supports the city’s objectives of increasing recycling and compost diversion rates while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This strategic move not only enhances service delivery but also contributes to Denver’s goals of Resiliency, Vibrancy, and Great Government. As the city prepares for these changes, residents are encouraged to engage with the new services to maximize their waste management efforts.
