Denver City Government Closed Monday, Oct. 13

Denver, COLocal News

Most City and County of Denver offices will close on Monday, Oct. 13, for Indigenous Peoples’ Day, affecting numerous city functions. The Mayor’s Office, City Council offices, and the Auditor’s Office will not operate, but emergency responders will be on duty to ensure public safety. The city’s 3-1-1 information line will also be closed, with residents encouraged to submit requests online. The Denver Animal Shelter will be closed, although emergency animal protection services will be available via 911.

Additionally, the Denver County Court and other state-operated courts will not hold sessions on this day. Outdoor facilities at Red Rocks Park will remain open, allowing visitors to enjoy natural spaces. The closure reflects a broader recognition of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, a holiday aimed at honoring the history and culture of Indigenous peoples. As such, various city functions will pause to observe this significant day.
