2025 Building and Fire Code is Now Adopted

Denver, COLocal News

On June 13, 2025, Denver officials adopted the 2025 Building and Fire Codes, which integrate the 2024 I-codes while excluding the Energy Code that aligns with the 2021 IECC. The new codes will take effect on December 31, 2025, allowing for projects submitted before that date to adhere to either the 2025 or the 2022 codes. This change aims to enhance safety and compliance with local zoning regulations in Denver. Community Planning and Development is responsible for reviewing, permitting, and inspecting building projects to ensure adherence to these codes. The adoption reflects Denver's commitment to maintaining high construction standards.

Most construction, alterations, or repairs on private property will require permits under these new regulations. The 2025 codes are part of an ongoing effort to modernize local building practices. Residents can learn more about the code adoption process and upcoming events related to these changes.
