"Good Trouble Lives On" protests scheduled across Colorado

Denver, COLocal News

Tens of thousands plan to protest against the Trump administration on Thursday, coinciding with the fifth anniversary of civil rights leader John Lewis's death. As of last Friday, organizers reported 56,000 people RSVP'd for over 1,500 events across the nation. Lewis, a vocal critic of Trump, notably missed the 2017 inauguration, marking a significant moment in his three-decade congressional career. In Colorado, approximately two dozen events are scheduled, including a rally at Lincoln Veterans Memorial Park in Denver at 5 PM. The protests seek to honor Lewis's legacy and continue advocating for civil rights and social justice.

Organizers emphasize that these events are crucial for keeping Lewis's spirit of activism alive. The nationwide turnout underscores a sustained commitment to addressing ongoing social issues. These demonstrations reflect a broader movement against policies perceived as detrimental to civil rights.
