Denver's 800M bond package for infrastructure projects takes shape

Denver, COLocal News

Mayor Mike Johnston has proposed an $800 million bond package for infrastructure projects to be voted on in November. The executive committee, including former Mayor Federico Peña, recommended various projects after gathering feedback from over 6,200 survey responses and nearly 1,000 town hall attendees. The proposal spans public health, parks, housing, and infrastructure, focusing on smaller, long-awaited fixes rather than a single cornerstone project. Key initiatives include a new first responder training center and park build-outs at Emporia Park and Park Hill Park. Johnston will review these recommendations and submit a formal proposal to the Denver City Council, which must approve it for the November 4 ballot.

The bond aims to address critical community needs in Denver, reflecting extensive public engagement in the planning process. Prices for each project will be confirmed and released at a later date. If approved, this bond package could significantly enhance the city's infrastructure and public services.
