Chicago, ILLocal News

Levy will take over food and beverage operations for the NASCAR Chicago Street Race, replacing Lettuce Entertain You as the official partner for the July 5-6 event. The race will feature local restaurants like Mr. Beef and Bronzeville Winery among its concessions, enhancing the culinary experience for attendees. As part of the preparations, rolling street closures have begun in Downtown Chicago, impacting key thoroughfares around Grant Park, including Columbus Drive and Ida B. Wells Drive.

Ticket prices have been reduced, with single-day general admission starting at $99 and free admission for children under 12 with a ticket-holding adult. The NASCAR agreement with the city has a three-year timeline, set to expire after this year, with a possibility for a two-year extension. In 2023, the event generated an impressive $128 million in economic impact, a 17 percent increase from the previous year. However, attendance at the 2024 race fell short compared to its inaugural year, when adverse weather conditions affected turnout. The excitement surrounding the race continues to build as more details are expected to emerge closer to the event.
