Illuminated Brew Works in Norwood Park has made a name for itself with its hazy IPA, Gay Agenda, brewed in celebration of Pride Month since 2017. The brewery will produce around 100 barrels of Gay Agenda this year, marking one of its largest batches to date, and has expanded its sales to over 70 stores, including major retailers like Whole Foods and Binny’s Beverage Depot. Ten percent of the profits from this beer are donated to the Broadway Youth Center, which supports LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness. Co-owner Brian Buckman highlights the brewery's unique and inclusive atmosphere, catering to a diverse clientele in a traditionally quiet neighborhood. A festive release party is scheduled to kick off Pride Month, attracting attendees from various parts of the city.

Illuminated Brew Works, which opened its IBW Lodge in 2021, has created a vibrant community hub with eclectic decor and regular events. The brewery's commitment to inclusivity and support for local causes distinguishes it in a neighborhood where it feels like "the odd man out. " Events like dance parties and trivia nights further solidify its role as a welcoming space for all.
