Immigrants in Chicago are once again lining up outside the Illinois Department of Human Services office, waiting for hours to renew social service benefits. The surge in applicants follows the reopening of enrollment for the state's Victims of Trafficking program in July.

The event will also feature free haircuts, hygiene kits, food, and a work fair aimed at helping youth find employment. This marks the third annual celebration organized by Thomas, who has grown his outreach efforts into a nonprofit called Chicago Emerging Stars.
