Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton launching PAC to help potential bid for Senate if Durbin doesn't run again

Chicago, ILLocal News

Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton is launching the Level Up federal political action committee to enhance her political operations and prepare for a potential Senate run, contingent on Sen. Dick Durbin’s decision regarding a sixth term. Stratton expressed her determination to continue fighting for the people of Illinois, emphasizing the need to share the state’s progressive achievements as a blueprint for the nation.

Key accomplishments include raising the minimum wage and enshrining reproductive rights into state law, which she believes can inspire similar initiatives across the country. At 59, Stratton’s political acumen positions her as a strong candidate, and she has publicly stated her intention to be the first to endorse Durbin if he runs again. The Level Up PAC will serve dual functions, allowing it to make direct contributions to candidates while also acting as a super PAC for independent expenditures. Stratton's initiative is backed by notable allies, including Highland Park Mayor Nancy Rotering and former Deputy Governor Sol Flores, who will help steer the PAC’s efforts. As Stratton embarks on this new chapter, she remains committed to demonstrating the leadership of the Illinois administration and its impact on working families.

The political landscape remains fluid, with both Durbin and Gov. JB Pritzker yet to announce their future plans.
