Department of Labor awarded these funds as part of the Building Pathways to Infrastructure Jobs Grant Program, aiming to improve job quality and expand access to good-paying jobs in the city. JARC will utilize $4.

8 million to enhance its workforce training initiatives, focusing on underserved communities and providing hands-on skills training in manufacturing and construction. Simultaneously, Revolution Workshop will receive $2 million to support its pre-apprenticeship programs, catering to individuals impacted by the criminal justice system and those from low-income communities. Mayor Johnson highlighted the significance of these grants in empowering Chicagoans with the necessary skills to thrive in growing job sectors.
