As Chicago approaches Labor Day weekend, the city's Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC) has outlined a series of events that promise to draw large crowds and traffic. The highlight includes the 23rd Annual Bike the Drive, where DuSable Lake Shore Drive will be closed for a 30-mile bike ride, starting early Sunday morning. Residents are advised to plan for street closures and increased traffic as they participate in or observe the festivities. The OEMC will monitor conditions and coordinate resources for public safety, with Traffic Control Aides positioned at select events to manage traffic flow. Concert-goers can look forward to Pearl Jam's performance at Wrigley Field on Saturday, while the Chicago Jazz Festival will take over Millennium Park throughout the weekend.

Attendees are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior, reinforcing the importance of community safety during large gatherings. Additionally, swimming at Park District beaches will continue until Labor Day, allowing residents to enjoy the last days of summer.
