The Alley Cat, a new dive bar, will open in January 2025 in Ukrainian Village, replacing the former Takito Kitchen. Owned by Chicago restaurant veterans Derrick Tung, William Ravert, and Tony Dezutter, the bar will be managed under their new hospitality group, Tung & Cheek. It will feature a classic cocktail menu priced at $14 or less, along with a limited food selection that includes “Crispy Tatters” and a social media-inspired “Girl Dinner. ” The venue is undergoing renovations, transforming parts of the former restaurant into spaces like "The Green Room," which will accommodate 30 guests, and a mid-lounge featuring a vintage chandelier. The total capacity of The Alley Cat will be around 86 patrons.

The owners aim to continue operating their Paulie Gee’s locations while managing this new venture. Although a specific opening date is not yet available, the bar will be open daily. The establishment reflects a growing trend of unique dining experiences in the Chicago area.
