Wicker Park Dog Park Reopens Saturday After Major Overhaul
Wicker Park’s dog park will reopen Saturday after a $600,000 renovation, expanding its size by 25 percent. Located at 1425 N. Damen Ave. , the park now boasts new fencing, seating, and a second entrance, along with a shade structure and a drinking fountain for both dogs and humans. The Wicker Park Advisory Council spearheaded fundraising efforts, receiving substantial support from state Rep.
Eva-Dina Delgado, Ald. Daniel La Spata, and numerous private donors. Volunteer Kristin Drutchas highlighted the park's historical importance, noting it was one of the first official dog-friendly areas in Chicago. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 10 a. m.
