'Chicago Loves Local' Campaign Encourages Neighbors To Shop Local This Holiday Season

Chicago, ILLocal News

The "Chicago Loves Local: 77 Reasons To Shop Small" campaign seeks to support small businesses across Chicago during the holiday season, involving two Far North Side business groups, a city task force, and an immigrant rights organization. This initiative encourages residents to shop locally and share their experiences through social media, with promotions and rewards for participants. The Andersonville Chamber of Commerce and the Rogers Park Business Alliance are key collaborators, drawing on their experience in neighborhood-specific shopping campaigns. Laura Austin highlighted the campaign’s goal of uniting organizations to strengthen community ties and support local businesses. Immigrant-heavy neighborhoods have faced significant challenges due to federal immigration raids, making this campaign particularly timely.

The task force behind the initiative aims to amplify the voices of small businesses and encourage residents to invest in their local economy. Promotions include punch card rewards and limited-edition merchandise for shoppers. The campaign will run until Small Business Saturday on Nov. 29, enhancing local engagement and support.
