Lynn's Chicago Pizza In Woodlawn Closes, But Will Continue On With Catering

Chicago, ILLocal News

Lynn’s Chicago Pizza has closed its Woodlawn restaurant and will transition to catering services due to ongoing financial challenges. Co-owner Brandon Bruner Sr. reported that customer traffic was insufficient to sustain the business, leading to an early lease termination. The establishment, known for specialty pizzas named after South Side locations, will operate out of a commercial kitchen while offering baked lasagnas and launching a pasta meal kit service on December 1. Bruner, who initially hoped for increased patronage with the upcoming Obama Presidential Center, acknowledged the restaurant could not survive the current circumstances.

Lynn’s began as a ghost kitchen in 2023 before moving to its 61st Street location in September. Plans for future growth include pop-up events at various pizzerias and a potential relocation to a revitalized area on 75th Street in Chatham. Bruner's strategy aims to reduce overhead while maintaining the brand's visibility and income stream. He expressed hope for the future, stating, “Hopefully, with Lynn’s Pasta and our pizza catering, we can get the funds we need and get open again as a real classic pizzeria.
