Aldi plans to open a new store at the Roosevelt Collection Shops in the South Loop, having filed a permit to retrofit an existing storefront. The store is expected to debut next year, according to Aldi Regional Vice President Heather McCarthy. This expansion will complement Aldi's existing 33 locations across Chicago and marks a continued effort to increase its urban presence. Additionally, the company is set to open a River North store on November 13, featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony and gift bag giveaways for the first 100 customers. Customers can also enter to win a $500 gift card during the opening weekend.

The Roosevelt Collection currently houses 18 other retailers, including Old Navy and AMC Theatre, enhancing the shopping experience in the area. Aldi's growth strategy underscores its commitment to serving diverse communities in urban settings. This new store will provide more affordable grocery options for residents in the South Loop.
