Tiger Moon Market Unites 35 Asian-American Restaurants To Raise Money For Immigrant Rights

Chicago, ILLocal News

Ed Marszewski initiated the Tiger Moon Market, an Asian-American culinary event, to benefit local immigrant rights organizations during a time of heightened immigration enforcement. Scheduled for November 3 from 6-10 p. m. at Bridgeport’s Ramova Theatre, the event features tastings from over 35 restaurants and chefs. Participating establishments include Michelin-starred Kasama and other well-known local favorites.

All proceeds will support groups like the ACLU of Illinois and the National Immigrant Justice Center, which work to defend immigrant rights amid ongoing enforcement actions. Marszewski noted the urgency of the event, stating that many local businesses rely on immigrant labor and face challenges due to stringent policies. Local chefs, such as Chris Jung, express commitment to using their platforms for social justice, with Jung preparing a special dish for the event. The rapid organization of the market showcases strong community support, as many chefs volunteered to participate. This culinary event not only highlights the diverse food culture but also aims to mobilize support for affected communities in Chicago.
