Chicago, ILLocal News

Lollapalooza's 2025 festival achieved a record economic impact of $480 million in Chicago, surpassing the previous year's figure by $40 million. C3 Presents, the festival's parent company, communicated this to City Council members, highlighting the influx of more than 460,000 attendees, with 56% traveling from outside the city. Organizers paid over $10 million in rent to the Chicago Park District and contributed $7. 2 million in city amusement taxes, alongside additional fees for park restoration. Local businesses such as hotels, restaurants, and public transit systems experienced a surge in activity during the festival.

The event's popularity has solidified its future in the city, supported by a 10-year contract established with then-Mayor Lori Lightfoot in 2022. Lollapalooza transitioned to a four-day format in 2016, enhancing its appeal and attendance. C3 Presents also organizes the Sueños music festival, which, along with Lollapalooza, occupies Grant Park for several weeks each summer. The exact dates and lineup for next year's festival remain unannounced.
