AMC Roosevelt Collection 16 launched two premium auditoriums featuring IMAX with Laser and Dolby Cinema on October 10, enhancing the cinematic experience for South Loop moviegoers. IMAX with Laser offers a next-generation 4K laser projection system, while Dolby Cinema is designed for remarkable picture quality and ultra-vivid colors. The theater reopened six months ago after AMC took over from Kerasotes Showplace Theatres, which closed in June 2024. Dan Ellis, AMC's chief operations officer, emphasized the location's productivity and its role in AMC's strategy to target underserved areas. The company operates 900 theaters worldwide, with 47 in Illinois, and plans to add 40 Dolby screens in various locations in the coming years.

This expansion reflects AMC's efforts to meet the growing demand for premium movie experiences. The investment in advanced technology underscores AMC's commitment to enhancing viewer satisfaction. The introduction of these premium formats positions AMC Roosevelt Collection 16 as a key player in the Chicago cinema market.
