Humboldt Park Is Getting Its 1st Cannabis Dispensary

Chicago, ILLocal News

Humboldt Park will welcome its first cannabis dispensary at 2735 W. North Ave. , following City Council approval. Residents largely supported the proposal, viewing it as an opportunity to activate a long-abandoned storefront and enhance safety in the neighborhood. Lyfe Cannabis Dispensary, known for its social equity ownership, will operate the new location, which marks its first venture in Chicago.

Planned renovations include a new facade, 24-hour security cameras, better lighting, and murals by local artists. The building, dating back to 1888, has housed various businesses but has remained empty for over a decade. Developer 360 Degrees is committed to revitalizing the space and creating job opportunities in the area. The project aims to bring investment and a greater sense of community to this underserved corridor. The dispensary will also increase parking capacity on the property.
