Extra! Extra! Block Club And Half Acre Made A Beer

Block Club Chicago collaborated with Half Acre Beer Co. to introduce Extra! Extra! Xtra Pale Ale, a 4. 2% ABV beer designed for their second annual Block Party.

This ale features a blend of Strata and Simcoe hops, delivering a tropical fruit aroma complemented by pine notes. Ryan O’Doherty, Half Acre's senior R&D manager, highlighted the beer's hoppy characteristics and smooth finish, developed through a careful brewing process. The Block Party will occur Saturday at Half Acre Brewery, where $1 from each pint sold will support Block Club Chicago's nonprofit journalism efforts. The event, open from noon to 9 p. m.

, includes live music, a silent auction, and local vendors, making it a family-friendly occasion. Children can enjoy a designated zone with performances by the Wiggleworms and the Jesse White Tumblers. Extra! Extra! will be available on tap until it sells out, making it a limited-time offering.

Attendees can RSVP for the event and purchase VIP tickets that include food, beer, and exclusive merchandise.
