Chicago, ILLocal News

Crumbs. nd. Creams, the first silvana shop in Chicago, opened its doors in Albany Park on September 13, 2025, attracting a crowd of eager customers. Owners Katrina and Mharloe Requiron initially sold their homemade silvanas at local markets before deciding to establish a permanent location. On their opening weekend, they produced around 1,500 cookies daily, highlighting the strong demand within the local Filipino community.

Their silvanas come in various flavors, including blueberry and ube, with each recipe refined through feedback from friends. The couple dedicated significant time to crafting their shop's decor, which reflects Requiron’s childhood memories in the Philippines. The Requirons expressed gratitude for the community's support, which alleviated their initial fears of opening a storefront. Their goal extends beyond selling cookies; they aspire to share and celebrate Filipino culture through their culinary offerings. The couple’s journey illustrates the blend of hard work and love that goes into their business.
