Chicago, ILLocal News

Heyday Eatery has opened on the Wicker Park-West Town border, taking over the former Intelligentsia Coffee location. The cafe features an all-day breakfast menu with customizable options such as breakfast bowls and a Ukrainian dish called Syrnyky. Founded by Mykhailo Chernomorets, who previously owned restaurants in Kharkiv, Ukraine, the cafe also supports Chernomorets' aid organization, Rescue Now, which assists Ukrainians amidst the ongoing conflict. The grand opening is scheduled for September 27, as the cafe is currently in a soft opening phase. Chernomorets aims to deliver high-quality food alongside fast casual dining aesthetics, using local ingredients and made-from-scratch recipes.

The drink menu includes specialty coffee, matcha, and a range of refreshing beverages. Plans for future expansion and the addition of a self-ordering kiosk and patio seating are underway. Chernomorets describes the concept as European, blending cultural influences while addressing a niche market in Chicago.
