New Greenway Bike Path Connects Kosciuszko Park To Western End Of Bloomingdale Trail

The West Logan Square Neighborhood Greenway bike project will enhance access between Kosciuszko Park and the Bloomingdale Trail on Chicago's Northwest Side. Funded through the 35th Ward's 2024 participatory budgeting, the initiative costs $180,000 and spans over a mile. It features painted green bike lanes, a speed limit reduction to 20 mph, and road condition improvements. Signs and bike striping on Avers Avenue are complete, while striping on Hamlin Avenue is forthcoming. Alderman Anthony Quezada's chief of staff, Scott Jaburek, confirmed the project’s funding and importance for local connectivity.

The initiative aims to improve traffic safety and promote cycling in the neighborhood. Local residents will benefit from enhanced access to recreational areas and trails. This development supports safer travel for cyclists and pedestrians, fostering a more bike-friendly community.
