Logan Squares Busy Beaver Buttons Celebrates 30 Years
Busy Beaver Buttons, founded by Christen Carter in 1995, celebrates its 30th anniversary with a party at the Color Club in Irving Park on Saturday. Since moving to Logan Square in 2005, the company has produced 63 million hand-pressed buttons and operates the world’s only button museum. The event will include local music acts and vendors, with proceeds benefiting the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Carter credits the company's success to its community roots and customer-focused approach. Busy Beaver has seen a rise in business from nonprofits amid a politically charged environment, reflecting a growing demand for expressive messaging through buttons and stickers.
The company plans to expand its sticker production with a new facility next May. Carter emphasizes the importance of using these products to foster community communication. Busy Beaver also offers a range of other merchandise, including enamel pins and bumper stickers.
