Midsuji, An 8-Seat Omakase Bar, Opens At Chicago Athletic Association Hotel
Midōsuji, an eight-seat omakase restaurant, has officially opened at the Chicago Athletic Association hotel, replacing the Milk Room bar. The restaurant offers two evening seatings at 6 p. m. and 8:30 p. m.
for its $195 tasting menu, which features 11 seasonal courses. Chef Brian Lockwood, who previously worked at New York’s three-Michelin-starred Eleven Madison Park, leads the culinary team with a focus on blending Japanese ingredients and classical French techniques. Seasonal highlights from the tasting menu include hand rolls, a tomato-focused course paired with a tomato gin martini, and a dessert inspired by a Twix bar. Diners can opt for a beverage pairing for an additional $105, with offerings that include Japanese spirits and cocktails. The restaurant’s design features a hand-carved walnut bar and Japanese decor, creating an intimate dining experience.
Midōsuji aims to capture the essence of traditional omakase dining, which has gained popularity in Chicago.
