Van Leeuwen Ice Cream Opening In Wicker Park With Malrt-Infused Scoops

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream opens its inaugural Chicago location in Wicker Park at 1555 N. Damen Ave. on Sept. 12. The shop will feature more than 30 flavors, including a limited-time Malört-infused ice cream aimed at adventurous eaters.

Tremaine Atkinson, CEO of Malört producer CH Distillery, stated, “We’re so excited to welcome Van Leeuwen to Chicago the best way we know how — with Malört! ” The grand opening will include $1 scoops from 11 a. m. to 1 p. m.

on the first day. A second location is set to open this fall in the Willis Tower, expanding the brand's presence in Chicago. Since its founding in 2008, Van Leeuwen has gained attention for its unique flavors, including collaborations with brands like Hidden Valley Ranch and Kraft Macaroni & Cheese. Last year, the company introduced an espresso-flavored ice cream in partnership with pop star Sabrina Carpenter. The shop will operate from 11 a.

m. to midnight Monday through Thursday and from 11 a. m. to 1 a. m.
