Englewood Music Fest Returns With Performances From Rapper Boosie, 90s RB Group Next
The Englewood Music Festival will celebrate its fifth anniversary on September 13, 2025, at Kennedy-King College, offering a free event from noon to 9 p. m. Headliners include rapper Boosie, known for hits like "Wipe Me Down," ’90s R&B group Next, and Grammy-winning gospel artist Le’Andria Johnson. This year’s festival aims to unite the community through music and art, featuring performances from local talents such as DJ Myles and Nathan Palmer. Ald.
Stephanie Coleman founded the festival in 2021 to showcase Englewood’s cultural excellence and attract diverse crowds with nostalgic music selections. The festival remains a vital community event, especially after the closure of other local festivals like Hyde Park Summer Fest and the Silver Room Block Party. Attendees can reserve free tickets and purchase drink tickets for a designated libation garden. Coleman emphasizes the importance of celebrating local talent and the cultural vibrancy of the South Side. The festival continues to be a platform for fostering community spirit and cultural appreciation.
