Angel Santiago, a 58-year-old legally blind man, has been on a quest to find his beloved service dog, Bam Bam, who was stolen from his yard in Logan Square on June 5. Since then, Santiago has stood outside Tony’s Fresh Market daily, asking shoppers for help while distributing flyers. A GoFundMe campaign has emerged to support his search, raising over $2,000 of its $3,500 goal within a day. PETA has also contributed by offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to Bam Bam's return, increasing the total reward to $6,000. Santiago has expressed the emotional toll of the loss, struggling with sleep and appetite as he searches for Bam Bam, who has been his companion for 13 years.

Community members have shown their support, with neighbors posting flyers and sharing his story across social media platforms. Santiago’s son, Tristan, is also deeply affected and has put up flyers at his high school. Santiago remains hopeful that with the community's help, he will be reunited with Bam Bam soon.
