Chicago, ILLocal News

Servin’ Fysh Dance Company, founded by Gerald Willis in 2016, has become a vital part of Chicago's LGBTQIA+ dance community. The Park Manor-based troupe offers a safe space for dancers to express themselves without judgment, blending multiple dance styles, including hip-hop and voguing. Their recent performance at the Chicago Sky's Pride Night showcased their energetic routines and commitment to diversity. Willis's late uncle, a member of the LGBTQ community, inspired him to establish the company and promote acceptance and self-expression. The dance crew collaborates with various choreographers to keep their performances fresh and innovative.

Besides dance, Servin’ Fysh also provides support for members facing challenges like housing and healthcare. The organization aims to be a family-like haven, fostering love and laughter among its members. As they continue to grow, they remain dedicated to creating a community where everyone can thrive.
