Chef Zubair Mohajir, who has experience running multiple local restaurants, led the grand opening with a menu featuring items such as ube crinkle doughnuts and breakfast dosas. This initiative aligns with a broader trend of increasing visibility for Filipino cuisine in Chicago, where establishments like Kanin and Del Sur Bakery have gained popularity. The cafe's coffee menu includes traditional espresso drinks and specialty lattes, such as the Kaaju latte with cashew milk and chai spice. Currently operating from 8 a.

m. to 2 p. m. , Sarima plans to extend its hours and introduce ice cream options. The cafe shares a space with SALT Burgers and Fries, in a location formerly occupied by Beard Papa’s.
