Chicago, ILLocal News

Atelier, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Lincoln Square, will close its current location on Saturday and move to a new venue in the neighborhood. Known for its rotating 12- to 14-course tasting menu, Atelier emphasizes global flavors and local ingredients. The restaurant successfully raised $485,340 through a fundraising campaign, which will help facilitate the move and improve visibility. Owner Tim Lacey reported a significant increase in diners as the final service approaches, stating it is the busiest week they have experienced. To commemorate the closing, Atelier will host a garage sale on July 26, allowing patrons to purchase items from the restaurant's current space.

The Western Avenue location previously housed chef Iliana Regan’s Elizabeth restaurant, which also earned a Michelin star before closing in 2022. Atelier opened in 2023 and quickly garnered acclaim, including a Michelin star and recognition as one of the city’s best restaurants. Chef Christian Hunter, a James Beard Award semi-finalist, initially led the kitchen, with Bradyn Kawcak taking over as executive chef in early 2024 while retaining the Michelin star.
