Chicago, ILLocal News

Lovely Intentions, a new candle and jewelry shop with a DIY workshop, opens Saturday at 1937 W. North Ave. in Wicker Park. Founders Jaslim Landaverde and Lisette Renova aim to foster community creativity through workshops that allow customers to make their own candles, perfumes, and jewelry. The shop features a charm bar and dedicated workshop areas for both walk-ins and scheduled events.

Landaverde began her candle-making journey as a hobby during the pandemic, while Renova crafted jewelry to cope with stress as a medical assistant. The duo's vision materialized when they found a space in the Flatiron Arts Building, previously occupied by the Liquor Park liquor store. They have renovated the storefront to create a welcoming environment for creativity and relaxation, including areas for mindful meditations and journaling. The shop will also host rotating vintage and artisan vendors, enhancing the local artistic community. Lovely Intentions will open its doors from noon to 8 p.
