The Garfield-Clarendon Model Railroad Club, a fixture at the center since 1963, will also return, promising weekly open houses for local residents. Originally built in 1916, the center has a rich history, transitioning from a bathhouse to a community hub. The renovations addressed significant structural issues that had previously threatened the building's preservation. Local advocates played a crucial role in pushing for the restoration instead of demolition, demonstrating community commitment to preserving historical sites.
