" Their powerful rendition of "Born for This" led to a thumbs-up from the notoriously critical judge. This national spotlight follows their earlier feature on CBS Chicago, which caught the attention of the show's producers. The choir will compete in the quarterfinals in August, with the potential for audience votes to propel them to the finals. Choir director LaDonna Hill, who is retiring after 25 years, has played a pivotal role in nurturing the students' confidence and vocal skills. The group has maintained a busy schedule, performing at significant events over the summer.
