Man Stabbed To Death During Fight At Navy Pier, Police Say

A 56-year-old man was fatally stabbed during a fight at Navy Pier on Sunday, with the incident unfolding around 5:30 p. m. The altercation started as a verbal argument between the victim and a 64-year-old man, who pulled out a sharp object and inflicted multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported to Northwestern Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The suspect, who also suffered injuries, remains in police custody and is in serious condition.

Police have not yet announced any charges related to the incident. A spokesperson for Navy Pier confirmed that neither individual was affiliated with the venue or its tenants. This stabbing follows a previous violent incident at the pier involving a former employee shooting two workers, raising concerns about safety at the tourist destination. Local authorities are likely to increase surveillance and security measures in response to this latest violence.
