Groundswell Coffee Coming To Fine Arts Building, 6 Years After Artists Cafe Closed

Groundswell Coffee Roasters is set to launch a cafe in the Fine Arts Building, located at 410 S. Michigan Ave. , in August, marking the venue's first cafe since 2019. The cafe will operate daily from 7 a. m.

to 7 p. m. and will feature an exclusive Groundswell x Fine Arts Building coffee roast alongside breakfast burritos, sandwiches, and pastries. Owner Jason Foster emphasized his desire to create a distinctive space that reflects the building's historical character. The Fine Arts Building has recently undergone extensive renovations, including a multi-million dollar restoration of the Studebaker Theater completed in 2023.

This new cafe aims to attract thousands of artists and visitors to the historical site, revitalizing its ground floor. Erica Berger, the Fine Arts Building proprietor, expressed enthusiasm for reactivating the space with this new addition. Groundswell Coffee's opening represents a significant step in enhancing the local community's coffee culture and supporting the arts scene.
